TOWN OF STONEWALL – PLANNING & ZONING COMMISSION

The Stonewall Planning & Zoning (P&Z) Commission met with 18 visitors. Members present were Charles Watson, Jeanene Sanders-Wiggins, Pat Jones, John Alvarez, Josh Black, and Wayne Chriss. Member John Cristler was absent. Mayor Ken Kaffka was also present.
Motion to dispense with the reading of February 16, 2023, minutes and adoption was made by P&Z member Josh Black and seconded by P&Z member Pat Jones. 6 YEAS, 0 NAYS, 1 ABSENT. Motion Carried.

NEW BUSINESS:
a) Request to rezone Lot 3 and Lot 4 of Goldsby Business Park and a portion of Lot 4 of
Georgie Ruth Goldsby Estate from Residential to SC Commercial. Discussion followed.
P&Z Member Pat Jones made a motion to rezone the property, seconded by P&Z Member
Wayne Chriss. 6 YEAS, 0 NAYS, 1 ABSENT. Motion Carried.
b) Request to rezone 67.262 Acres located in the East-Half of the Northwest Quarter and
the West-Half of the Northwest Quarter of Section 22, Township 15 North, Range 14 West,
DeSoto Parish, South of Highway 3276, East of Pine Grove Road and North of Stanley
Road excluding 600 feet from the centerline of Highway 3276 which is already zoned
Commercial. Said tract described containing 145.971 acres, more or less. Discussion followed.
P&Z Member Jeanene Sanders-Wiggins made a motion to rezone the portion of property, seconded
by P&Z Member Josh Black. 6 YEAS, 0 NAYS, 1 ABSENT. Motion Carried.
