Assistant Clerk
The Town of Stonewall is currently seeking a full or part-time assistant clerk to start immediately. Position Summary: This employee assists the Town Clerk with day-to-day clerical duties. Employees in this position are expected to exercise some judgment in work methods and planning detail.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responding to phone calls or emails and directing them to other employees when appropriate.
- Taking payments for reservations, tickets, permits, etc.
- Issue building permits & road permits.
- Maintain filing system and other documentation.
- Typing letters and other business documents.
- Other duties assigned by Mayor or Town Clerk.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Must have at least a high school diploma or GED.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office.
- Verbal communication for addressing other employees, customers, & other business contacts.
- Good customer service for dealing with the public.
- Integrity and discretion when working with sensitive matters.
- Ability to carry out oral and written instructions.
- Possession of a valid driver’s license.
- Must be able to pass drug and alcohol testing.
- Must be able to pass a background check.
