TOWN OF STONEWALL – PLANNING & ZONING COMMISSION

The Stonewall Planning & Zoning (P&Z) Commission met with 3 visitors. Members present were Charles Watson, Jeanene Sanders-Wiggins, John Alvarez, Pat Jones, Wayne Chriss, Josh Black, and John Cristler. Mayor Ken Kaffka was present.
Motion to dispense with the reading of March 5, 2024, minutes and adoption was made by P&Z Member Josh Black and seconded by P&Z Member John Alvares. 7 YEAS, 0 NAYS, 0 ABSENT. Motion carried.

a) Requesting to rezone 10 acres described as Commencing at the Southeast corner of the
NW/4 of the NE/4, Section 32, T15N-R14W, DeSoto Parish, LA; thence North 88°43’22”
West, a distance of 550.55 feet to the Point of Beginning; thence North 88°43’22’ West, a
distance of 454.62 feet; thence North 01°37’35” East, a distance of 218.00 feet; thence
North 88°43’22” West, a distance of 208.00 feet to the east ROW of U.S. Highway 171;
thence North 00°33’45” East, along said ROW, a distance of 493.73 feet; thence South
89°53’08” East, a distance of 680.31 feet; thence South 02°16’54” West, a distance of
725.60 feet to the Point of Beginning, containing 10.0 acres, more or less. Discussion
followed. P&Z Member John Cristler made a motion to rezone the property to SC
Commercial, seconded by P&Z Member Wayne Chriss. 7 YEAS, 0 NAYS, 0 ABSENT.

b)Re-subdivide 1.5 acres from lot 1 of Cecil Collins Subdivision. Discussion followed.

c) Recommend approving the exterior design for St. Ann’s Catholic Church. Discussion
followed. P&Z Member Jeanene Sanders-Wiggins made a motion to approve, seconded by
P&Z Member Pat Jones. 7 YEAS, 0 NAYS, 0 ABSENT. Motion carried.
