TOWN OF STONEWALL – PLANNING & ZONING COMMISSION

The Stonewall Planning & Zoning (P&Z) Commission met with 12 visitors. Members present were Charles Watson, Jeanene Sanders-Wiggins, Pat Jones, John Alvarez, Josh Black, and John Cristler. Member Wayne Chriss was absent. Mayor Ken Kaffka was also present.
Motion to dispense with the reading of September 26, 2023, minutes and adoption was made by P&Z member Pat Jones and seconded by P&Z member John Alvarez. 6 YEAS, 0 NAYS, 1 ABSENT. Motion Carried.

NEW BUSINESS:
a) Request to rezone 37.439 acres, more or less, in the Northeast Quarter of the Northwest Quarter (NE1/4 of NE1/4) of Section 22, Township 15 North, Range 14 West, DeSoto Parish, Louisiana excluding 600 feet from the centerline of Highway 3276 which is already zoned Commercial. Discussion followed. P&Z Member Josh Black made a motion to approve, seconded by P&Z Member Pat Jones. 6 YEAS, 0 NAYS, 1 ABSENT. Motion Carried.
b) Request variance to build three commercial structures on less than three acres in the commercial portion of Plantation Hills subdivision. Discussion followed. P&Z Member
Pat Jones made a motion to not approve the variance, seconded by P&Z Member Jeanene Sanders-Wiggins. 6 YEAS, 0 NAYS, 1 ABSENT. Motion Carried.
c) Request approval of exterior design for commercial business. Discussion followed. P&Z Member Jeanene Sanders-Wiggins made a motion to approve, seconded by P&Z Member Pat Jones. 6 YEAS, 0 NAYS, 1 ABSENT. Motion Carried.
d) Request to subdivide one acre for Taco Bell Subdivision Unit No. 1 located at Marketplace Dr. and Highway 3276. Discussion followed. P&Z Member John Alvarez
made a motion to approve, seconded by P&Z Member Jeanene Sanders-Wiggins. 6 YEAS, 0 NAYS, 1 ABSENT. Motion Carried.
e) Recommend approving Plantation Hills Unit 1A – Re-subdivide lot 13 into lots 13A and 13B. Discussion followed. P&Z Member Josh Black made a motion to approve, seconded by P&Z Member John Alvarez. 6 YEAS, 0 NAYS, 1 ABSENT. Motion Carried.
