NEW BUSINESS:

a) Adoption of Resolution Number 2024-127: A RESOLUTION ORDERING AND CALLING A SPECIAL ELECTION TO BE HELD IN THE TOWN OF STONEWALL, DESOTO PARISH, LOUISIANA, TO SUBMIT TO THE QUALIFIED ELECTORS THEREOF CERTAIN LOCAL OPTION PROPOSITIONS RELATIVE TO THE SALE OF ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES, AND PROVIDING FOR OTHER MATTERS IN CONNECTION THEREWITH. Discussion followed. Council Member Brandon Garsee made a motion to approve, seconded by Council Member Don Crosslin. 3 YEAS, 0 NAYS, 2 ABSENT. Motion carried.

b) Recommend approving the insurance proposal from Risk Management and Leavitt Group for coverage beginning January 9, 2024 through January 9, 2026. Discussion followed. Note that the beginning year should be “January 9, 2025.” Council Member Don Crosslin made a motion to approve the proposal, seconded by Council Member Brandon Garsee. 3 YEAS, 0 NAYS, 2 ABSENT. Motion carried.
